Designs for Health's pioneering TruTG™ fish oil products, offering 90%+ triglyceride bound EPA and DHA, have influenced the nutritional supplement industry to such a degree that now, two years after introduction, other popular fish oil brands have recognized this product quality improvement and have begun offering their versions of this superior product formulation. We at Designs for Health see this as great news for our industry, and most importantly as great news for end-user customers regardless of the brands they choose. Higher bioavailability equates to more EPA and DHA being consumed.
One downside of the popularity of 90%+ triglyceride bound fish oil products is that we are experiencing our first supply disruption of the oil. It is our expectation that this will be a one-time disruption as additional raw material manufacturing capability is near completion. In order to address this supply disruption we are forced to temporarily offer two modified OmegAvail™ Ultra formulations, both containing the exact same TruTG™ EPA and DHA potency.
The original OmegAvail™ Ultra formulation, which has always contained the same above noted TruTG™ EPA/DHA potency with lipase and lemon, will temporarily be modified as follows:
Modified Formulations:
Formulation #1: Expected date of availability Sept 28 to October 7; modifications include – Vitamin D added (500IU per softgel), the removal of lipase and lemon, and a slight color change to a more golden hue.
Formulation #2: Expected date of availability: Week of Oct 14 to late November – early December; modifications include – the removal of lipase and lemon, and a slight color change to a more golden hue. Also, vitamin D added in Formulation #1 will be removed.
We apologize for challenges created by this unfortunate supply disruption and assure you we are working diligently with our raw material suppliers to assure this will not happen again. It is our expectation that our original OmegAvail™ Ultra formulation will be back in stock by late November -early December. This assumes that (1) our manufacturer is able to procure raw materials in a timely manner and (2) all QA testing measures have been fulfilled.

Lipase is an enzyme needed for breaking down lipids (fats). Lipase is primarily produced in the pancreas but is also produced in the mouth and stomach.

everyone can benefit from its inclusion as it relates to better digestion of fish oils. This is supported by studies that address:
- The importance of lipase for the efficient digestion of dietary fats[3]

- Why more lipase may be needed beyond normal production in the pancreas[4]
